What documents are necessary when I pick up my car?
  • Your normal driving license, issued by your country of residence and held for at least one year. It will be requested at every rental. Note that your International Driving License is valid only if accompanied by your normal Driving License. Driving License must be valid.
  • Your passport will also be required according to Icelandic law for car rentals.
  • Your valid credit card with an expiry date at least 3 months from the day you pick up the car. You must also present a credit card for those charges which have not been prepaid (such as extras, refueling charge, excess due in the event of damage to or loss of the rented vehicle). We accept all major credit cards.
When is the pick up and drop off service available?

 

  • You can pick up your car at any time between 6:00 - 23:00. You can pick up the car outside of those hours for a small after-hours fee (2.500 ISK) 
  • You can drop off your car at any time, if it is very late in the night, contact us before you drop it off and we will instruct you further based on the location.
When I get to KeflavĂ­k International Airport, How will I pick up my car?
  • If you are picking up a car in Keflavik International Airport an employee from Ice Holiday Car Rental will be waiting for you in the arrival hall with a sign with the Ice Holiday Car Rental logo on it.
  • Our employee is ready to help you with your luggage and drive you to our office where you complete the paperwork and pick up your car.
  • The drive to the rental office from the Airport takes 5-10 minutes. In case you do not see an employee from Ice Holiday Car Rental there, call our pick up phone service that's always open by calling: (+354) 777-1818 or either of our two back-up numbers (+354) 660-7266 or (+354) 660-7267

 

What happens if the car breaks down?
  • Most of the cars we offer are brand new, in the extremely unlikely scenario that they do break down, call our emergency assitance number that is open 24/7 and we will instruct you further. (+354) 660-7266 or (+354) 660-7267
Rental rate and payment

All prices include unlimited mileage, collision damage waiver insurance and 24% tax.
Quoted total rate will include any extras you select during the booking process as well as tax.
You can either pay in full with a credit card or pay 15% of the price as confirmation and pay the rest when you arrive.
Credit cards are charged the same day the booking is made. If you want to pay the full amount at arrival please contact us by email.
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club).

Can I cancel/change a reservation?
  • If you cancel your booking one week or more before pick up: You get a 100% refund of what you have paid. 
  • If you cancel your booking less than one week before pick up: You will get a 50% refund of what you have paid.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before pickup or do not show up to pick up the car you will not be refunded anything.
  • If you want to cancel or change your booking send us an email and our sales representative will assist you. For changes to reservations made via a Travel Agency, please contact the relevant agent. You will receive a confirmation of change or cancellation by e-mail.
Can I be sure that the selected vehicle is available?


Ice Holiday Car Rental guarantees you the same or higher catagory of car, but not the brand and/or model.
